Factions of Mahdran Empty Factions of Mahdran

Post  Kanen Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:36 am

Setting, History, Notable NPCS

Several factions have sprung from the Era of Sorrows. Several great civilizations have risen and fallen in the College History from Alfar to Man. Some of these have produced nations, others cults, others nothing.

Factions of Mahdran Empty Druids of Mahdran

Post  Kanen Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:39 am

Druids of Mahdran – The Druids are considered welcomed allies and outsiders no matter where they go. They tend to commune with nature and deal heavily with the untamed. In larger cities, it is not uncommon to have a resident Druid sect. Druids are most famous for having the ability to use Healing magic. Druids are well known for their secrecy. Therefore, their recruiting practices are much up to mystery, along with their ruling structure or any political affiliation. Despite their secrecy any nation would be happy to have a Druid; they are also known for their helpfulness and empathy. They commonly assist in matters dealing with the Untamed as well as Healing (though sometimes for a price)

Factions of Mahdran Empty Piety of Tu-ran

Post  Kanen Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:39 am

Piety of Tu-ran – Tu-ran was the last Skylord to sacrifice herself near the end of the Great War. Before she sacrificed herself she gave a rather compelling speech to those of the Ember. She explained to the Mankind of Ember that their greed and lust for power had driven them from the kindness of the Skylords. From her example, those who witnessed her sacrifice we moved to take up the cause. The driving force of the Piety of Tu-ran is to enforce the Treaties of Man. Through heavy recruiting, they have becoming surprisingly involved in the happenings of each College and act as sort of a Strong Arm for the Worshipers of Heaven. With the Worshipers blessing, they enforce several of the religious rules the Skylords have put in place.

Factions of Mahdran Empty Worshippers of Heaven

Post  Kanen Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:40 am

Worshipers of Heaven – The Worshipers have existed since the Fall of the Alfar. This heavily influential organization has touched the lives of almost everyone on Mahdran. Mankind worships the Skylords for all of the blessings they deliver and this is the religion. Since the dawn of the Age of Sorrow, the Worshipers of Heaven have become less of a religious cult and more of a fire and brim stone. It is not unknown that the Skylords vowed to disappear for a century, but many of the Worshipers believe that the Skylords will never return. Now they feel that every year that passes without the presence of the Skylords denotes the sin of Man. The Piety of Tu-ran has been used to ‘Purge the Sin’ from various smaller settlements. The Holy, as they call themselves, have gathered somewhat of a reputation. That’s not to say that the Worshipers of Heaven are all bad, but some of the larger organizations have become a little over zealous.

Factions of Mahdran Empty Alfar Exiles

Post  Kanen Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:40 am

Alfar Exiles - A few Alfar Colonies existed after the last attack of the Alfar. Their pleas did not go unheard on the remaining nations at that time. Through several decades, those Alfar outside of the Island of All were able to integrate into the society of man as well as remain small nations among themselves. They are quite useful due to the fact that they exist outside of the Alfar-Man Truce and can trade freely between the two races. Most of them are simply happy to be alive since a good portion of the older members fought in the Great War.

Factions of Mahdran Empty Monks of <Element>

Post  Kanen Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:41 am

Monks of <Element> – Due to the powerful affinity Man shares with the elements, each element has a sect of Monks for it; those who turn the element into a religious and spiritual aspect of their lives. Through the mistakes of their ancestors, the Monks now work for purposes of peace instead of purposes of war.
